why did the titanic hit the iceberg?

Titanic, the unsinkable ship. A luxurious British passenger liner that turned into one of the most famous tragedies of our time.

On april 10th,1912, the Titanic set sail on it's first voyage, sailing from England to New York City. At many times of the journey, the radio operator of the Titanic received many alerts about icebergs, most of the warnings were passed to the ship's bridge. Edward Smith, the ship's captain, slightly altered the ships course to avoid these icebergs.

April 14th, warnings were sent from the other ships to the Titanic about icebergs. Those messages were never passed to the bridge, Some of the crew members sure that nothing can stop this ship.
At 10:55 pm, a ship near by sent a word to the Titanic that it stopped due to the icebergs in the area. Philips, who was responsible about the passengers massages, repaved the ship for interrupting him. At that night the Titanic lookouts said that the ocean was unusually calm that night.

Near Canada, the iceberg was sighted, and the bridge was notified. First, the captain turned the ship left, but it was too close to avoid the impact. While the ship was turning, the iceberg hit the left side of the ship and that lead the water into the compartments, bringing the ship deeper to the ocean. That determined the ships fate.

Many experts said that the ship would have survived if it hit the iceberg head-on. They said ''nothing can stop this ship'' well, an iceberg did. I think that no matter how hard a human built something so powerful, gods power is always bigger.
